This model of rifle was developed in the late 1930s and was used during WWII, Korea and into the early 1960s when it was replaced by the L42 series. The left side of the butt socket is marked "M47 C/1945/V37904/TR". The receiver ring has the standard British "Crown/GP" Enfield proof marks, along with "ENGLAND". Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% of the wartime black/parkerized finish overall, with only edge and high spot wear. The buttstock, forend and handguard are all excellent with a nice dark brown color overall. The scope and mount are both excellent with 95% of the black painted finish overall with some minor paint touch up on the ends of the scope. The optics are clear and sharp and it has the correct, matching numbered bolt. A very nice example of a WWII British No 4 MK I (T) sniper rifle with scope and mount.
