Manufactured in 1908. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/1894 patent date ahead of the rear sight and "38-55" on top at the breech. The Winchester oval proof is stamped on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The three line maker, model, patent date appear on the upper tang and the serial number on the bottom of the frame. Pinned blade front sight with bead, carbine folding leaf rear sight. Full length magazine tube and saddle ring stud and ring mounted on the left side of the receiver. Blue finish with casehardened lever, trigger and hammer, and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with carbine buttplate.
