Manufactured in 1949 during the Transition period (1945 to 1951). Ramp front sight base (not machined to accept a hood) with filler block, tapped for sight mounting ahead of the filler block in the rear sight slot and Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8 scope on a Bausch & Lomb mount. Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. Straight receiver tang, late safety and polished bolt numbered to gun. Checkered high comb pistol grip stock with buttstock sling swivel and added vented White Line Deluxe recoil pad. Consignor notes refer to the rifle as a custom national match.

Very fine as partially refinished (stock). The rifle retains 90% thin original blue finish showing some minor thinning. Silicon has been added where the barrel meets the forearm tip. The stock is very fine with some minor pressure dents and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Forearm sling swivel has been removed and a hole for a sling swivel has been filled near the buttstock toe. The scope has clear optics.
