Only 25 nickel plated engraving samplers were manufactured. This example features the floral scroll engraving styles of Henshaw, Nimschke, Helfricht and also contemporary floral scroll. The muzzle end of the barrel is contemporary, the barrel lug and frame are Helfricht, the cylinder is Nimschke, the back strap and trigger guard bow are Henshaw and the sides of the hammer are engraved with the wolfs head. The Colt logo and "Colt Engraving Sampler" is engraved on the back strap. The left side of the one piece ivory grip is scrimshawed "R. Henshaw 1831/L. Nimschke 1850-1900/C. Helfricht 1871-1921/Contemporary". With a factory letter that confirms configuration, that it is 1 of 25 in this configuration and that it was shipped to Stacy Williams Company on October, 1th, 1990. Near new with only a few light handling/storage marks overall. The box is good.
