This is 1 of 16 nickel plated 1862 Police engraving samplers manufactured by Colt. There is contemporary floral scroll engraving on the muzzle end of the barrel, Helfricht style on the barrel lug and frame, Nimschke style on the cylinder and Henshaw style on the trigger guard bow and butt. The top of the back strap is engraved with the 150th anniversary Rampant Colt logo. Down the back strap is engraved "Colt Engraving Sampler" in script. Fitted with a smooth one piece ivory grip with "R. Henshaw 1831/L. Nimschke 1850-1900/C. Helfricht 1871-1921/Contemporary" scrimshawed on the left side. With a Colt Black Powder Series hardwood case lined in gold velvet, the original box numbered to the gun, a powder flask, an empty cap tin, a two cavity bullet mold and a screwdriver/nipple wrench.

Near new with a slight drag line on the cylinder, moderate frosting on the right side, a few light handling marks and the grip is slightly loose. The case is excellent with some scattered minor marks and some wear on the inside. The box is fair. The accessories are all very good.
