This very fine Colt Model 1849 percussion revolver was manufactured in 1857. The barrel is stamped "ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW YORK CITY" inside brackets on the top flat. The cylinder is roll-engraved with the Stagecoach holdup scene and is marked "COLTS PATENT" above the matching serial number "138732". The full serial number is stamped on the frame, cylinder and grip straps with the partial serial number on the loading lever, wedge and arbor pin. The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT". Blue barrel and cylinder, casehardened frame, hammer and loading lever, and silver plated brass trigger guard and back strap and fitted with a one-piece varnished grip.

Excellent. The barrel retains 97% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The cylinder retains 75% blue. The loading lever, frame and hammer retain 85% original case colors. The grip straps retain 90% original silver plating. The grip is excellent with a few minor handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically fine.
