Colt manufactured approximately 44,350 Bisley revolvers from 1894 to 1915. This particular revolver was manufactured in 1913. The barrel has the two line Hartford address on top and "(BISLEY MODEL) 38 W.C.F." on the left side. The left side of the frame had the three line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "562" on the loading gate. Blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length and finish with type of stock not listed The revolver was sold to W.J. Cox (address unavailable) and shipped to A. Baldwin & Co., New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 19, 1913 as part of a two gun shipment.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. There is some very scattered minor pitting and spotting. The grips are also very good with a crack near the bottom on the right panel, a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
