Manufactured in 1874, this First Model Colt New Line .22 caliber revolver features a factory engraving and a seven-shot cylinder with short flutes and outside locking notches. The engraving is scrollwork on a punch dot background and is featured on the frame sides, barrel sides and chambers with a geometric engraving on the back strap and a floral pattern on the top strap. The top of the barrel is marked "+ COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.+" and the left side of the frame is marked "22 CAL". Silver plated barrel with gold plated frame and hammer and fitted with smooth bird's head pearl grips. The barrel is numbered to the gun.

Fine. The frame and hammer retain 40% original gold plating and the barrel and cylinder retain 20% original silver plating with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The grips are very fine with a small missing chip on the bottom and a few very minor handling marks. The pearl has an attractive color. Mechanically fine.
