Description:

Manufactured in 1878 this is an example of a short barrel version of the "Cloverleaf" revolver. German silver blade front and frame groove rear sights, with "COLT" on the left side of the barrel and the serial number on the underside, with the ejector pin slotting into a notch on the underside of the muzzle. "PAT.SEP.19.1871" is stamped on the inside of the top strap groove. Fitted with a checkered hammer, spur trigger, and a pair of birds head grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel and cylinder show 30% of the original blue finish, with areas of gray patina and scattered spotting and handling marks. Some traces of the original silver are present on the frame, which shows a well aged brass overall. The grips are very good, with a few mild dents. Mechanically excellent.
