Description:

Manufactured from 1863 to 1888, this is a four shot, .32 caliber pistol using a cluster of stationary barrels and a revolving firing pin. The barrels are arranged in a square pattern, with "MANUFACTURED BY E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y." on the left, "ELLIOTS PATENTS MAY 29, 1860-OCT. 1, 1861" on the right. German silver blade front and frame notched rear sights. The left side of the frame is marked "B. KITTREDGE & CO" in an upward arch over CIN. O." Benjamin Kittredge had a firearms dealership in Cincinnati, Ohio, during the mid to late 1800s. The derringer is functionally double action only, with the concealed hammer operated entirely by the rear motion of the ring trigger. The grip section is contoured so the butt rests on the ring finger. Matching serial number on barrel and frame.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 80% plus original silver plating with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The grips are very fine with some high edge wear and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
