Description:

This is an example of a very late 1940 production Series One "P" code commercial Krieghoff Luger pistol with two matching magazines. These Lugers were a continuation of the early 1940 contract that were actually a very late pistol manufactured at the end of commercial production in late 1940. These are noted and described on pages 220 and 221 of the book "The Krieghoff Parabellum" by Gibson. It is estimated that only approximately 200 of this series were manufactured. This specific pistol has the blank chamber and toggle with a commercial "Eagle/N" proofmark on the frame, barrel and barrel extension indicating commercial sale, with no rejection star on the right side. This pistol has the high polish Krieghoff blue finish with the straw colored smaller parts and is fitted with the earlier commercial brown plastic grips with the fine checkering and smooth outer border. This pistol is accompanied with two original blue magazines with aluminum bases stamped with the full serial number (1208). This pistol is complete with a 1937 dated black leather holster marked "GEBRUDER KLINGE//DRESEDN/1937/WaA142" on the back.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 95% of the original blue finish, showing wear on the grip straps and high spots. The straw colors remain 60% intact. The grips are excellent with minimal handling marks. The holster is very good with a nice original black color, clear sharp markings, tight stitching and showing minor handling marks and scratches in some areas. As noted, this fine Luger has matching numbers on the various parts to include both magazines. A scarce example of a late production "P" code Series One Luger pistol rig.
