This is an excellent example of a 1940 Dated WWII Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol rig with desirable "Eagle/L" Police proof and also carries the desirable "SU75" proof on the barrel. This proof signifies that it was a Simson/Ulbright contract barrel that was used only on these early 1940 Police contract Lugers. The top of the chamber area is stamped and the Mauser Banner logo is on the front toggle. The standard "Eagle/L" Police proof is stamped on the right side of the barrel extension with the Nazi "Eagle/N" commercial proof on the left side of the barrel extension and the breechblock. The full serial number "4741x" is stamped on the front of the frame with "4741" stamped on the left side of the barrel extension and no number on the underside of the barrel. The last two digits of the serial number "41" are stamped on the various small parts. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips. This beautiful Police Luger rig is complete with two original Type Two all blue Police magazines stamped on the aluminum bases, "2/4741/x" and "3/4741/x". Complete with outstanding 1940 dated brown Police leather holster that is marked "SCHAMBACH & Co./BERLIN/1940/Police Eagle proofmark # on the back and unmarked takedown tool. There are GI names and unit locations written in ink inside the flap.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the original blue finish with minor holster wear present on the high spots. The grips are excellent with some minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine. The holster is very fine with only minor handling marks on the face, clear sharp markings and tight stitching. As noted this pistol has all matching numbers to include both magazines.
