Description:

This carbine is equipped with a Stabler cut-off. The top of the receiver is marked "MODEL/1865" along with the four line Spencer and Burnside Rifle Co. information. The serial number is marked on the top rear of the receiver. The folding ladder rear sight is graduated to 900 years. Single barrel band and saddle ring bar with ring on the left side of the stock. The left side of the buttstock (behind the saddle ring bar base) is marked with an "EA" script cartouche, which has been stamped over two illegible cartouches.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The carbine has a smooth mottled gray patina with some silvered out original case colors remaining on the receiver. The refinished wood is fine with some minor handling marks. Needs mechanical work. The lever partially releases.
