This is a fantastic example of a complete "turn-key" Model SA1 (M60 style) semi-automatic rifle setup, as manufactured by Springfield Armory Inc in Geneseo, Ill., and sold through their subsidiary, RIA. This lot also has a large group of accessories and ammunition. The original M60 MG was the main medium MG used by all the U.S. Military forces, from the early 1960s, through Vietnam and into the early 1980s until it was replaced by the M249 SAWs. These SA-1 rifles were designed to actually duplicate the weight, function and firing of the original M60 Machine Guns, only in a semi-automatic mode, firing from a closed bolt position to enhance the accuracy as well as making them completely legal to own and operate. This rifle features a mix of both original US Government/subcontractor parts, (with various part numbers) that were combined with some new made commercial parts which have been assembled on a new made steel receiver. The receiver is marked on the left side: "RIA GENESEO, SA1 M60 27". Currently this rifle is assembled with a custom Navy (SEAL) configuration barrel, 19 inch long with fluted sides (to help dissipate heat and reduce weight), The military tangent rear sight, adjustable to 1100 meters and a lightweight folding bipod, with the barrel mounted carrying handle. The lower forend/heat shield has the SEAL style forward pistol grip with cut down sides and fixed buttstock. This configuration also includes a modified feed tray that holds a 200 round box magazine. The rifle comes equipped with a huge complement of various accessories and ammunition as follows: a M122 tripod with original T&E mechanism, an anti-aircraft style tripod with a modified pintle that fits both tripods, a spare M60 barrel assembly in the short SEAL (non-fluted) configuration with the short flash hider, and an original M60 barrel bag; four ammunition cans containing approximately 200 rounds of linked M80 Ball ammunition (Radway Green and FNM manufacture) per can and two ammunition cans with approximately 200 rounds of linked 7.62 NATO blank ammunition with a plastic magazine pouch that attaches to the feed tray cover, with a large lot of additional spare links. This lot also includes a large, heavy duty, Gun Guard plastic storage case.

Excellent like new condition with 98% plus of the original parkerized finish overall, showing light firing and minor handling marks overall. The various accessories are all in very good condition with the tripods having been repainted at some point years ago, which has not flaked off some. The ammunition is all in excellent condition. The spare barrel is also in excellent condition with 98% of a black painted finish over the parkerizing with a bright shiny bore with excellent rifling. A really scarce example of an original SA1 semi-automatic rifle with tons of accessories. If you ever wanted to acquire one you need to get it now before they try to change the laws again!
