Description:

Manufactured in 1906 as a size 0 frame. This was the smallest frame a 16 gauge was built on. This shotgun has the standard VH engraving pattern with a zig-zag border around the outside edges and around the screw heads. The Vulcan steel barrels have two ivory bead sights, are choked .024/.027 and have 2 3/4 inch chambers with long forcing cones and an extractor. The bottom flat of the barrels is stamped with the weight of 3 pounds 1 ounce. Mounted on a multi-point checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, silver initial shield and a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Rating Definition:

Fine with period refinished (barrels and wood). The barrels retain 50% of the high quality blue finish with the remainder having a brown patina. There are scattered minor dings along with some areas of scattered minor pitting under and through the finish. The chambers have been altered. The receiver retains traces of the bright original case colors in the protected areas with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The receiver has some scattered minor dings and a couple areas of light pitting. The wood is very good as refinished with scattered dings and scratches. The buttplate appears to be a replacement. Mechanically fine with a stiff break lever.
