Manufactured from 1851 to 1860, this example is the automatically revolved cylinder type with total production approximately 1,500-2,000. Marked "MASS. ARMS CO./CHICOPEE FALLS" on the top strap and "MAYNARD'S PATENT/SEP. 22. 1845" on the primer cover. The primer door and left side of the frame feature a floral scroll engraving that extends to the back strap which is marked with the 1855 patent date. Cylinder has a etched floral pattern. Fitted with smooth ivory grips.

Good. The revolver has a smooth gray patina with some light pitting (mostly on the cylinder). The slight shrunken grips are fine with some minor handling marks. The ivory has aged to a mellow yellow. Mechanically fine.
