Description:

Also known as the "Protector", the New Model was manufactured circa 1883-1884. The quantity produced is unknown, but all observed examples fall within a range of 18240 to 18600. German silver blade front and groove rear sights, with "MY FRIEND" stamped on the left side of the barrel, scroll and punch dot engraving on the sides of the frame, a checkered spur trigger and a bird's head grip with integral "brass knuckle" finger ring.

Rating Definition:

Fair, showing a smooth gray patina overall, with traces of nickel on the cylinder, scattered light pitting concentrated around the breech, and a small dent on the side plate. Mechanically functions, but does not lock up.
