A) Scarce James Warner Belt Model Percussion Revolver

Description:

Manufactured circa 1851 with total quantity estimated at only approximately several hundred and is believed to be the first revolving handgun manufactured by James Warner on a production basis. The revolver has no maker's name or address markings as observed on other examples. "12G" is stamped on the front of the frame and on the trigger. The cylinder has an acid etched pattern. Fitted with smooth walnut bird head grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver has a smooth brown patina with traces of original blue finish in the protected areas. There are a few small patches of minor pitting on the cylinder with most of the etching remaining. The grips are very fine with some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.

Description:

Double trigger model with only an estimated 350 manufactured. Cylinder has the James Warner marking. Fitted with smooth walnut grips numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver has a mottled gray patina with some light pitting on the back strap. The grips are also good with a long shallow cut on the right panel most of the original varnish remaining, some high point wear and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
