Manufactured in 1862, the second year of production. The top of the barrel has the one line New York U.S. America address, "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame and the cylinder has the Texan/Mexican navy scene. Single letter inspection marks such as "B", "C" and "T" are stamped on most of the major components. Matching numbers on the cylinder, frame, barrel and grip straps with an unmarked wedge. Fitted with a one piece varnish grip. The left side of the grip has a script letter cartouche (very faint). Very few Colt Model 1861 Navy revolvers were sold to the U.S. Army during the Civil War.

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver has a mottled brown-gray patina with the brass having an even aged patina. Half of the cylinder scene remains. The grip is fine with high edge wear and a number of minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
