The included factory letter confirms the caliber, octagon barrel and plain trigger. The rifle was received in the warehouse on May 18, 1895 and shipped on June 8, 1895, order number 1702. The rifle has a blade front sight, adjustable buckhorn rear sight and full length magazine tube. The top barrel flat has the two line address ahead of the rear sight and "38 W.C.F." at the breech. The upper tang has the three line Model 1892 marking and the frame underside has the serial number. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with iron forend cap and crescent buttplate.

Fine. The rifle retains 40% original blue finish with a smooth brown-gray patina on the balance. The hammer, lever and buttplate retain traces of original case colors. The wood is also fine with a couple long pressure dents and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
