This is a beautiful example of First Generation prewar Colt Single Action Army revolver manufactured in late 1929 that has been engraved by Colt factory master engraver Wilber Glahn. This wonderful revolver exhibits a vine and scroll pattern with a light punch dot back ground mixed with various line borders and geometric pattern covering approximately 50% of the metal surfaces. The engraved pattern on this revolver is very similar to the one shown on page 301 of the book; "The Book Of Colt Engraving", by Wilson, however there is no letter available from Colt. Additionally the back strap has been machine engraved "W.M. PETERSON". The top of the ejector housing is decorated with a simple wavy line and the outer edge and a wedge of floral scroll with a matte background. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line Colt address and "45 COLT" on the left side. The frame is marked with the standard two-line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. It has matching serial number (352721) on the frame, trigger guard, back strap with the cylinder numbered "21". The loading gate and frame have a matching assembly number "267". It has the standard fixed front and rear sight and is fitted with a set of beautiful Steer Head carved mother of pearl grips.

Excellent with 97% plus of the nickel plated finish remaining. The non-factory retailer grips are very fine, however have a chip absent on the upper right panel. A period replacement set that match the engraving style perfectly. Mechanically excellent. A very nice example of a Glahn pattern engraved Colt single action army pistol.
