Description:

Third Model, made in 1857. Pin front and hammer notch rear sights, with the one line New York address on top of the barrel and "COLTS/PATENT/U.S." on the left side of the frame. Matching numbers are present on the frame, grip straps, cylinder and barrel. Smooth single piece grips, with a "C" stamp on the left side of the butt and a 1 1/2 inch long silver oval on the right side, bearing a light border engraving and faded inscription.

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing a mixed gray patina overall, with traces of blue around the barrel wedge and on the cylinder. Some case colors are visible on the loading lever, with a brown/gray patina on the frame. Brass shows a mixed aged color overall, and the grips are also very good. Mechanically very good.
