Manufactured in 1922, this is a fine example of a first generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver in 38 WCF. The barrel is marked "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. Co HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on top and the left side of the barrel is marked "38 W.C.F." at the breech. The right side of the barrel has the ejector rod housing with the ejector having the correct curved indented design head. The left side of the frame is stamped "PAT. SEPT.19 1871/JULY 2. 72 JAN. 1975" followed by the Rampant Colt. The left side of the trigger guard is stamped with the number "1" above the Colt VP (verified proof) factory triangle proof. Matching numbers are stamped on the underside of the frame and on the grip straps under the right grip panel with the assembly number "634" marked on the loading lever. Blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer and fitted with checkered grips featuring the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. Both grip panels are numbered to the gun.

Excellent. The revolver retains 90% plus original blue finish showing holster type wear, thinning on the front strap and smooth gray patina mixed with blue on the back strap. The cylinder shows minor cycling marks and extremely limited very light pitting. The frame and hammer retain 95% plus original case colors with the loading lever turned to a smooth dark patina. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
