Description:

Measuring 14 inches in overall length, the horn is dark at the tip and white/cream colored further down, with a 5-pointed star with the letters for "TEXAS" scattered between the arms and "In/1840" in the center, and the majority of the lighter area covered in designs of assorted wild animals, from a centipede through the badger, on up to the warthog, wolf and the mountain lion. Riding through the menagerie is a Native American tribesman, with a red and blue blanket on the back of his horse and red accented headdress and nocked arrow. A hanging chain has ben secured to the body, with an iron tack secured velvet band around the top capped with a red and white floral pattern velvet cushion.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. Some rust is visible on the tacks and a small section of cloth is absent near the tip, otherwise the horn is in very fine condition with a few minor handling marks. The decoration is well executed, and the velvet portions are very good.
