Manufactured in 1958. This is an example of a Model 62A Gallery Rifle chambered for .22 Short only, with a triangular feed cut in the magazine tube. It has dovetail front and adjustable rear sights. The left side of the receiver is factory roll engraved "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK". The left side of the barrel has the Winchester legend consisting of the two line address followed by "-WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK-" and "-MODEL 62A-/22 SHORT-". The letter "A" behind the Model number occurred around serial number 98,000 and was due to a change in the breech bolt mechanism resulting in a name change from Model 62 to Model 62A. The matching serial number is marked on the lower tang and bottom front of the receiver. Mounted with a 17 grooved walnut forearm and smooth straight grip stock with a plastic checkered Winchester buttplate.

Excellent. The rifle retains 95% original blue finish with some smooth grayish patina on the tangs, the high edges, action bar and magazine tube. The barrel has some faint streaks of gray. The wood is fine with some minor dings and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
