Manufactured in 1891. Standard two line Hartford barrel address with "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side and the three line, three patent dates on the left side of the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "8". Blade front (lowered) and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened frame, and niter blue hammer (polished sides) and trigger. Fitted with a one-piece checkered rosewood grip.

Fine. The revolver retains 50% thin original blue finish remaining mixed with a smooth gray patina and showing some minor spotting on the back strap. The frame retains 80% original case colors with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. The hammer retains 99% original bright niter blue finish, while nearly all of the niter blue finish remains on the back of the trigger. The front sight has been filed down a little. The grip is good with moderate to heavy wear on the checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
