This 16 gauge Winchester Model 21 shotgun features custom engraving by the late Howard V. Grant of Grant Engraving Company, Elgin, Illinois. The sides of the receiver have full coverage of engraved hunting scenes. A marsh hunting scene is exhibited on the left side with flying ducks on the fence extending to the breech of the left barrel. A woodland hunting scene is exhibited on the right side with tree branches on the fence extending to the breech of the right barrel. The underside of the receiver has full coverage of a floral scroll engraving, which extends to the trigger guard, along with a large dog head in an oval medallion. The engraver's name is signed behind the trigger. Clouds from the hunting scene extend to the top of the receiver. The break lever has an engraved flight of ducks and the upper tang is engraved with a checkered board pattern, floral blossom on the screw head and an engraved pattern around the serial number. Single trigger with selector and automatic tang safety. The water table has the address, model and patent date markings. Single bead front sight on a solid concave matte rib, chokes marked full/modified (measure full/improved cylinder) and ejectors. The Winchester proofed barrels are numbered to the gun with the left barrel marked "WINCHESTER-16 GAUGE/2 3/4 CHAM" at the breech. The engraved forearm hardware and walnut forearm are numbered to the gun. Contrasting forearm and pistol grip stock with checkering, grip cap and Winchester plastic buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Very fine as masterfully embellished. The shotgun retains 95% of the blue finish showing thinning to a brown (mostly on the barrels) and some light spotting. The wood is fine with a refinished buttstock and showing a few light handling marks. The replacement undersized buttplate is cracked. Mechanically fine.
