Another, very desirable pre-WWII Commercial Mauser action, that has been highly embellished on the trigger guard and floor plate with custom engraved with a raised Gold inlay "Grizzly Bear" scene in the middle of the floor plate, surrounded by fine English scrolls with a meticulous gold line border. Additionally the serial number also been inlayed in gold on the trigger guard. The work is signed: "T.J.K." (Tommy J. Kaye) a well known custom gun engraver. The top of the receiver ring has been stippled with the back side notched for the longer 30-06 cartridge. It is marked "U.S. 1906/82816" with the prewar "Crown U and B" proofs. The rifle has a stepped barrel with the Mauser ramp front sight base with Lyman front sight and fixed standing rear sight. The barrel is marked "7.6S" (metric for .30-06) and has the matching serial number. The receiver has been fitted with a Griffin and Howe scope base (with no mount). It has the early Mauser style spoon-handle bolt with a commercial side swing safety lever. The bolt handle has also been gold inlaid; "G. Douglass" a well known, high end retailer years ago. It has an original full-length Mannlicher walnut stock with small European cheekpiece and a serrated buttplate with compartment. The number "22/286" is stamped behind the pistol grip.

Very fine with 98% of the original rust blue finish on the barrel and receiver, thinning in some areas with very minor small spots of pitting on the front barrel band/muzzle area. The trigger guard and floor plate have 99% of the blue and gold inlayed work. The stock is excellent with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. A superb, well balanced and highly embellished custom rifle. Mechanically fine.
