Manufactured in 1949 during the transition period (late 1945 to 1951). Standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the left side of the receiver and barrel at the breech and "-SUPER GRADE-" on the floor plate. Matte finish on the receiver and bolt handle and polished bolt with the remaining parts polished blue. The front sight has the correct factory fitted filler block installed. The rear top of the barrel, top and left rear of the receiver have all been factory drilled and tapped for sight and or scope mounting. Straight receiver tang, late safety, bolt numbered to the gun and hinged floor plate. Mounted with a checkered pistol grip stock with ebony forend, Winchester grip cap, raised comb, cheekpiece, checkered steel buttplate and quick release sling swivels.

Excellent plus. The rifle retains 99% plus original blue finish showing only the slightest handling marks. The stock is also excellent with a couple minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
