Description:

Black wool construction with a black velvet band, white piping, a silver chinstrap and a layered black and brown visor. The proper SS Eagle and Totenkopf badges are secured to the front. The interior of the cap is fitted with a brown leather sweatband, brown rayon lining, and a plastic covered leather sweat diamond marked in gold "A.M.Drees/IBBENBUREN/Hute-Mutzen/Pelzwaren". No RZM markings are present. For reference see Jill Halcomb-Smith's HEADGEAR OF HITLER'S GERMANY, Volume 4, pages 19, 64 and 91 for a description of private purchase black Allgmeine SS visors. According to the author, private purchase visors like this example lacked RAM and SS marks because they were tailor made, not made by the RZM manufacturer.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with minor staining on the interior, a few small tears on the sweatband, and light handling marks overall.
