A) Antique U.S. Navy Colt Double Action Revolver with New Jersey Marking and Navy Holster

Description:

Manufactured in 1896. The top of the barrel has the two line Colt Hartford address/patent dates 1884, 1888 and 1895 and "COLT. D.A. 38" marked on the left side. The left side of the frame has a circled Rampant Colt at the rear and "NJ" (New Jersey) below the cylinder. The assembly number "584" is marked on the cylinder latch, frame and crane. The rear cylinder face is marked with the letter "V". The butt is marked "USN/[anchor]/38 DA/[trident]/No/7988/NCT" over the two line serial number. Fitted with checkered "COLT" embossed hard rubber grips which also have the assembly number "585". With the revolver is a holster with "USN" on the flap and New Jersey "NJ" marking on the back.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina showing some minor pitting on the cylinder. The grips are fair with a large chip missing from the bottom of the right panel and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good with some age cracking with tight stitching.

Description:

Manufactured in late 1920. Fixed front and notch rear sights, with "COLT D.A. 45" on the left side of the barrel, two line address and patent markings on top and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the underside. An "eagle/S15" inspection mark is present on the left side of the frame, with the Rampant Colt below it and standard U.S. markings on the butt with a lanyard swivel. Smooth walnut grips. With an after market storage box.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally refinished, with 98% of the current blue, showing some minor edge wear and handling marks. A few light dents are present on the grips. Mechanically excellent.
