Description:

This all correct and original U.S. Colt Model 1911 pistol was manufactured in 1913, the second year of production. Blade front and arched notch rear sights, with the two line, two block patent dates and address on the left side of the slide, the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, and "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" on the right, with a Penfield-inspected, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked frame. Fitted with a "H P" marked barrel, wide checkered hammer, smooth long trigger, short grip safety, checkered slide stop and thumb safety, flat mainspring housing with lanyard staple, checkered walnut grips and an early "keyhole" pattern Colt magazine. With a brown cardboard collector's box.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing a gray patina on the grip straps and along the high edges, scattered areas of brown patina, and mild handling marks overall. Extensive scattered small areas of pitting are present on the slide and frame. Grips are very good, with a few tiny chips and dents on the otherwise sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
