Description:

Manufactured in 1944, this pistol later passed through the Springfield Armory, where it was armorer upgraded for use in the national pistol matches. Serrated Patridge blade front sight with an Elliason adjustable rear sight. One line Colt address on the right side of the slide, "NM7791435" on the left, "NM 7791414/17 97499" on the chamber of the blue barrel, and "7267718/N M" on the front of the barrel bushing. The "FJA" and "P" inspection marks are present on the left side of the frame and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" over the serial number on the right, with "SA" ahead of the stop hole, "T" above the magazine catch and "NM" on the right of the trigger guard. Checkered grips, with an adjustable aluminum trigger, serrated thin hammer, slide stop and thumb safety, long grip safety, serrated arched mainspring housing, and a checkered front strap. With cardboard collector's box and two extra magazines. Consignor notes state that the pistol was issued at Camp Perry to George Buttons.

Rating Definition:

Excellent as Springfield Armory match built, with 99% of the arsenal parkerized finish, showing mild handling marks overall. Over 95% of the blue is present on the barrel. Grips are also excellent, with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
