This is an early production example as manufactured in 1943. The left side of the slide has the two line "ITHACA GUN COMPANY/ITAHACA N.Y.", with a single "P" proof in front of the rear sight. The left side of the frame has US Ordnance inspector initials of "FJA" and "P" proof markings. The right side of the frame has the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/NO.89072" with "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" farther forward. It has a serrated slide release and thumb safety with a checkered and arched mainspring housing and it is fitted with a set of WWII Keyes fibre marked grip panels. The feed ramp has been repolished. It is complete with one blue magazine with a "L" on the front lip and a reproduction cardboard shipping box.

Very fine as professionally refurbished with 95% of the gray parkerized finish remaining. The grips are also in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering and no handling marks. The reproduction box is very good and provides a nice display set-up.
