Description:

Produced in March of 1942 and fitted with a Springfield barrel dated "2-42", the chamber of this rifle bears a number of markings from the Birmingham Proof House, including the "crown/BNP" proof, tonnage marks and a crossed scepter acceptance mark, suggesting the rifle was part of the material extended to Great Britain via the Lend-Lease program. Blade front and peep rear sights, with a Springfield bolt, trigger housing, hammer, safety, and operating rod. Smooth stock, with a serifed circled "P" on the wrist, "S.A./G.H.S." and a crossed cannon cartouche on the left side, brown leather sling, and a checkered steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 97% of the original parkerized finish, showing some light handling marks and edge wear overall. Stock is very fine as varnished with a few light dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
