Manufactured in 1970. Colt only manufactured approximately 3,900 of these Buntline Special revolvers from 1957 to 1974. These revolvers are consecutively serial numbered and were shipped as a pair. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL .45" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and the loading gate is marked with the assembly number "129". Blue finish, with casehardened frame, standard blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with smooth walnut grips. Comes with the original "wood grain" box with correct end label and numbered to the gun. The accompanying factory letter lists both serial numbers and verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, wood grips, special features "Consecutive serial numbers" and that the pair were shipped to F&B Supplies Inc. in Metairie, Louisiana (Colt Custom Shop Order #11897) on August 17, 1970.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original blue finish with some very minor muzzle wear, a couple of light scratches and a small amount of light spotting on the barrel and a partial light cylinder drag line. The frame retains 99% plus original bright case colors. The grips are also excellent with a few light handling marks. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent. The box is good with one of the long end flaps on the lid separated (in the box), a taped corner and a separated corner on the lid.

The grips are also excellent with only light handling marks. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent. The box is good with three separated lid corners as well as some corner and edge wear.
