Prior to 1914 Erfurt Military Luger pistols were not supplied with the stock lug on the back strap or a hold open device. Some pistols were later modified with the hold open installed, however this example remains unmodified. The chamber is dated "1912" and toggle is marked "ERFURT". The right barrel extension has a smaller "crown/RC" proof and a larger "crown/R" and "D" letters next to an Imperial Eagle proof. The front of the frame has the military style serial number and the bottom of the barrel is serial numbered and Imperial proofed on the left side. The various small parts have last two digits of the serial number with the crown Erfurt acceptance proof mark. Matching serial numbers on the parts except the firing pin, which is Erfurt proofed and numbered "34", and magazine. The magazine is an original WWI nickel plated with wood base numbered "5883l" on the bottom.

Very fine as partially refinished, the side plate and cold blue on the muzzle, with 80% original blue finish on balance and 50% original straw finish on the small parts. The matching grips are also very fine showing some very minor compressions on the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
