Description:

Introduced in the 1930s, the Klein Kaliber Wehrsportgewehr was designed to mimic the weight, feel and features of the military standard 98k bolt action rifle and was popular with paramilitary organizations within Germany, including the Hitler Youth. Blade front and tangent rear sights with "eagle/N" proofs on the barrel and receiver, Gustloff trademark and address on the receiver ring and "KK Wehrsportgewehr" on the right side. Smooth pistol grip stock, with two barrel bands. The right side of the stock has been branded "Fuhrerschule 1". While the precise origin of the rifle has not been nailed down, it is known that the SS did operate a number of "Leader Schools" for the purpose of training and indoctrinating their own officer corps, chiefly for the Allgemeine (General) SS, but which also supplied trained men to the Waffen-SS, the SD, and the Security Police. The first such school was created at Briennerstrasse 44 in Munich, Germany in 1931, and by the mid to late 1930s more Reichsführer schools were created to cater to special training.

Rating Definition:

Very good as reblued overall, with 95% of the blue finish, showing mild spotting and handling marks overall. The stock is very good, with a thin crack on top of the wrist, light dents and scuffs. The branding is strong and solid. Mechanically excellent.
