The bottom of the receiver is marked "D.R.G.M.". The barrels have a beaded blade front sight and a flip up rear sight, are choked light full/full and have 2 3/4 inch chambers. The bottom of the rifle barrel is marked "172 28/57/2 08/654". Has a tang mounted selector switch, Greener style side safety and a front single set trigger. Mounted on a multi-point checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a raised left handed cheekpiece, an engraved cartridge trap showing a capercaillie grouse, a horn trigger guard, horn grip cap and a serrated horn buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches. With an unmarked steel scope.

Rating Definition:

Fair as period refinished (barrels and wood), the barrels retain 85% of a high quality blue finish with some scattered handling marks, high edge wear and some areas of brown patina. The receiver has a gray patina with the engraving remaining sharp. The wood is good with scattered scratches, dings, chips, a small crack at the rear of the top tang, a repair at the wrist and worn checkering. Mechanically fine but the trigger does not set. The scope is good with a mixed gray/brown patina and clear optics.
