This example has a profuse amount of wonderfully executed tight English floral scroll engraving on the receiver, side plates, trigger guard and forearm hardware. The chainlink pattern Damascus barrels are engraved "J BEATTIE & Co. 204 QUEEN VICTORIA STREET, LONDON." on the rib, have a single steel bead sight, are choked light modified/light full and have 2 1/2 inch chambers with an extractor. The side plates are engraved "J BEATTIE & Co." in a banner. There is a tang mounted safety. Mounted on a checkered walnut splinter forearm and straight grip stock with silver initial oval and a serrated horn buttplate. Length of pull is 13 7/8 inches.

Refinished, most of the Damascus pattern remains visible on the barrels with the engraving being faint. The receiver and side plates retain 25% of the blue finish with areas of silvery gray patina. The "SAFE" marking on the top tang is absent. The refinished forearm is smooth with the checkering visible under the finish. The sanded buttstock is very good with scratches, dings and some small chips around the lock plates. Mechanically needs work as the action is loose and the safety does not function correctly.
