Description:

Manufactured circa 1879 to 1886. German silver blade front sight, elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight and full length magazine tube. The top barrel flat is marked "WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY, CT U.S.A. KENNEDY" ahead of the rear sight and "45-60" at the breech. The serial number is marked on the lower tang. Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a steel forend tip and crescent buttplate with compartment (cleaning rod not included).

Rating Definition:

Very good. The rifle has a mottled brown-gray patina with very scattered traces of original blue finish remaining. Some light pitting is present. The wood is good with a chunk of wood missing near the upper tang and a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
