This custom sporting rifle was built on a Mauser Argentinean Model 1909 action. Consignor notes state that the rifle was built by Duane Wiebe. Working in the gun making business for over 35 years, Wiebe turns out approximately 10 custom rifles per year. The rifle is equipped with a ramp front sight base and receiver scope bases. The left side of the barrel is marked "Caliber-270 Win." in a script font, the left side of the receiver retains the Mauser Model 1909 markings and the right side of the chamber has the serial number. The trigger guard and floor plate feature an extensive leaf and vine engraved motif with a gold inlaid elk head on the floor plate. The nicely figured pistol grip stock features multi-point checkering on the forearm and grip area, a checkered metal grip cap, a cheekpiece, sling swivel studs, an ebony forearm cap, a blank buttstock initial oval and a checkered metal buttplate with compartment.

Very fine as professionally rebuilt. The rifle retains nearly all of the blue finish showing slight loss at the muzzle. The bolt and extractor feature a crude pattern in the metal. The stock is excellent with limited mild handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
