Description:

This pistol, likely originating from England in the late 18th century or early 19th century, has martially themed engraving on each side of the box and laurels under the pan. No makers or proofmarks are visible. It features the distinctive boxlock action, sliding tang catch, and has a metal ramrod with trumpet tip mounted on the underside of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished. The pistol is mostly a brown patina with some scratches and pitting. The refinished wood is fair as repaired, with a repaired crack extending down from the back of the box and some marks and scratches. The action is fine, but the frizzen is somewhat loose and there is a slight gap at the juncture of the grip and box.
