Description:

Manufactured in 1915, this is a rare Trapper carbine with a rarer 14 inch barrel. It features a full magazine with a single barrel band, square base pinned front sight and folding leaf rear sight graduated to 200 yards. There is a staple and saddle ring (with homemade leather tong) on the left side of receiver. Casehardened lever and hammer with remaining surfaces blue. Smooth, straight grain American walnut with straight grip stock and steel carbine buttplate. It has the very rare extra short 7-7/8" forearm and the barrel address is properly placed on the left side between the rear sight and barrel band. The carbine comes with a leather scabbard and a copy of December 2007 BATF Firearms Curios or Relic List. This carbines serial number is listed on page 40 as having been removed from the NFA.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The carbine retains 40% of the original blue finish on the barrel and magazine, with a smooth mottled brown and gray patina on the remaining metal surfaces. There is 20% original blue finish remaining on the receiver in the protected area around the saddle ring staple. The wood is very good with numerous scattered minor dents, dings and scratches. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent. The scabbard is good with a hole through the top layer of leather, a couple of cuts and scattered minor/moderate flex cracking.
