Description:

Measuring 38 1/2 inches in overall length with a 33 inch single edged, single fuller blade marked "x ANDRIA x FARARA x" in the fullers. The steel basket hilt has cut-through designs, "A S" stamped on top, red felt and leather lining, rayskin grip wrap and rounded pommel. Notes from a previous owner suggest the weapon was made c.1650-1770 and issued to the 42nd Regiment of Foot, AKA The Black Watch.

Rating Definition:

Good. A protective varnish has been applied to the blade with spotting, minor dings and a few areas of rust. The rear quillion has separated from the guard which has some denting and repairs and mild wear and loss of the liner. The grip is also good.
