Manufactured in 1869 for the commercial market with a three screw frame with an iron back strap. The top of the barrel has the one line New York address, the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT", and the cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas naval battle scene and marked "COLTS PATENT No 410". The matching number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap. The partial serial number "2410" is marked on the cylinder pin and the wedge is un-numbered. Blade front and hammer notch rear sights, and fitted with a smooth varnished one piece walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The metal surfaces have a mottled brown patina with some pitting on the left side of the barrel and lug. There is strong original blue finish on the top of the back strap and on the bottom of the barrel. The brass has an aged patina with strong traces of original silver plating in protected areas. The grip is fine with some lower edge wear, and overall some minor dings and dents. The cylinder scene is completely visible and the markings are clear. The action is fine.
