Manufactured in 1852. The top barrel flat is marked "{ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW-YORK CITY}" and the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT". The cylinder is roll-engraved with the Stagecoach holdup scene and is marked "COLTS PATENT" above the matching serial number. Complete matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap and partial number "319" on the cylinder pin, wedge and loading lever. Blue barrel and cylinder, casehardened frame, hammer and loading lever, and silver plated brass trigger guard and back strap. Fitted with a one piece varnished walnut grip.

Fine as partially period refinished, the back strap and trigger guard. The barrel retains 30% thin blue finish mixed with gray patina. The loading lever, cylinder and frame have a smooth mottled gray patina. The trigger guard and back strap retain 90% silver plating with edge wear and some age darkening. The revarnished grip is very good with some minor wear on the lower edges, and a few minor dents and dings. The cylinder scene is 95% visible and the markings are clear. The action is fine.

Manufactured in 1857. The barrel has the two line New York address inside brackets, "COLT/PATENT" on the left side of the frame, the letter "K" on the left side of the trigger guard and the stagecoach holdup scene on the cylinder. Matching complete and partial numbers. Fitted with a one piece varnished walnut grip.

Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth mottled gray patina. The trigger guard and back strap retain 40% original silver plating with an aged patina on the exposed brass. The grip is good with some wear and chips along the bottom edges, and a few minor dents and dings. The action needs work, the cylinder does not rotate when the hammer is cocked. The markings and cylinder scene are clear.
