Description:

Introduced in 1881, and also known as the 44 Double Action First Model. Fixed sights, with the two line address/patent dates on top of the barrel, matching serial numbers on the barrel, latch, cylinder and butt. Casehardened hammer and trigger, blued trigger guard, and a pair of mother of pearl grips, smooth on the left panel and a carved eagle tearing apart a snake on the right. The eagle and snake is a traditional symbol of Mexico, and suggests that the revolver may have been intended for export.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 85% of the original nickel finish, showing areas of flaking with exposed brown steel beneath, some light frosting, mild edge wear and scattered handling marks. Bright case colors are present, chiefly in the protected areas. Grips are good, with some chipping along the edges, light scratches around the screw head and fine detail in the eagle. Mechanically excellent.
