Description:

Measuring 37 1/4 inches in overall length with a 26 inch blade showing a fine wavy hamon and attractive grain set into a gold washed copper habaki. The tsuba is round darkened brass with the recurring serial number "143" on the spacers and hilt hardware, cherry blossom themed hilt decoration, and a copper brown cord wrap. It has a lacquered rayskin pattern saya with dual hangers. The left side of the tang bears the stamp of Seki Arsenal followed by a 10-figure untranslated signature and a deep unidentified stamp.

Rating Definition:

Very good. Some mild spotting is showing on the blade, concentrated on the lower third, with bright metal overall and a very strong hamon. Some of the numbers on the hardware have been restamped to match and there is some fraying of the hilt wrap. Saya is fair with some breaks in the lacquer and discoloration of the fittings.
