Description:

The New Model three was owned by a number of legendary Americans including Annie Oakley, Walter Winans, Buffalo Bill Cody, and more. This example has the common 6 1/2 inch barrel and a blue finish with a casehardened hammer and trigger guard. The two line address and patent information on the rib and the trade mark on the right side of the frame. The matching serial number can be seen on the barrel, latch, rear face of the cylinder, and the butt. It is fitted with a pinned half-moon blade front and notch rear sights, lanyard ring, and a checkered hard rubber grips with the S&W monogram that are hand numbered to another gun.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 75% of the original blue finish showing some thinning and a brown patina along the high edge. The cylinder is mottled brown with blue finish strongly retained in the flutes and a light drag line. The hammer retains 80% of the case colors while the trigger guard now displays a smooth gray patina. The grips are good with some pressure marks concentrated on the left panel. Mechanically excellent with legible markings.
